Prepare and Join Participation in Advancing MEA

The ASEAN Economic Community is not a scourge to be feared. Because this is nothing but the necessity of globalization itself. Understanding the AEC systems and schemes and preparing to face them can help us to contribute to supporting this program to run well. Each policy usually also has a negative impact that needs to be anticipated so that it can follow the MEA properly.

Information circulating about globalization that presents a negative side sometimes makes people afraid to confront or cause insecurity. Especially regarding the issue of intense competition in the field of employment. However, actually there is no need to behave that way especially if consumed by the existing issues. There are five things that need to be known to be more stable in preparing themselves and dare to face global competition. The following is presented for you.

MEA Is Not a New Thing within ASEAN

Historically, ASEAN's policy to unite in realizing free trade in AEC is not new. At least, everything has been planned for more or less the past decade. The acceleration carried out (originally 2020 was advanced to 2015) is a reasonable attitude, given the fluctuating development of the world economy. Recognizing and understanding international shocks is one way to take advantage of the benefits of the AEC and avoid unwanted losses.

MEA Gives Many Benefits That An Individual Can Get

One of the aims of the AEC is to work towards equity and reduce inequality in ASEAN society. As mentioned earlier about promoting SMEs in CMLV countries. Then, what's in it for the people of Indonesia? AEC will make ASEAN a market or producer of various products from member countries. The more facilitated global sales, the greater the market so that it becomes an opportunity for anyone who is sensitive and creative.

Productivity and Cross Market

The market has its own saturation level. With MEA, an open market is increasingly broad as is competition. The focus, of course, is how to enter other countries' markets. The higher competitiveness (due to quality) makes producers more creative and innovative as well as quality in creating products. Manufacturers in Indonesia who want their products to be accepted in the global market cannot help but pay attention to the quality of their products, at least meeting international standards.

Awareness of Quality Improvement in HR Education

Data from 2014 shows the number of junior high school (SMP) educated workers in Indonesia is around 76.4 million. This amount if presented is around 64% of the 118 million workers of Indonesia. The number is high for an indicator of the low quality of human resources (HR) owned. Every individual who is aware of the AEC competition will certainly continue to boost the quality and level of education to a high or highest level.

Awareness of Increased Infrastructure and Supporting Facilities

Countries can develop to a significant level by encouraging development in the field of facilities and infrastructure. The opening of the MEA also signaled the same thing. Of course it requires the participation of all parties so that facilities and infrastructure in Indonesia continue to develop towards a more adequate level.
